Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro+, and Redmi Note 12 Discovery are the four different models of smartphones that make up the Redmi Note 12 series, which was introduced in October. Redmi announced today the addition of a new member to their portfolio, which they have termed the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition.
Although the name could lead one to believe that the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition charges more quickly than the standard Redmi Note 12 Pro, which features wired charging capable of 67W, this is not the case, as the Speed Edition charges at the same rate as the standard model. In addition, it supports the QC 3+, PD 2.0, and PD 3.0 charging protocols and has a battery capacity of 5,000 mAh, just as the model does not include Speed.
A lot of similarities can be seen between the Redmi Note 12 Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition. Redmi only modified the design of the camera island by moving the brand name of the company from the bottom to the top of the structure. It has the appearance of a smartphone manufactured by Poco, and we wouldn’t be surprised if it were released under the Poco brand in some areas that are located outside of China. It is also important to note that the Note 12 Pro Speed Edition weighs 181 grams, which is six grams less than the standard Note 12 Pro. The dimensions of the device and the capacity of the battery are identical between the two versions.

However, the primary distinctions between the Redmi Note 12 Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition may be summarised as being found in the device’s chipset as well as its camera. The Redmi Note 12 Pro is driven by the Density 1080 System-on-CPU (SoC), and it offers a 50 MP primary camera. In contrast, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is powered by the Snapdragon 778G chip, and it boasts a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 camera (no OIS, though). It is accompanied by an ultrawide unit with 8 MP and a macro unit with 2 MP.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 6.67-inch Full HD+ 120Hz 10bit OLED display, and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. These are the remaining highlights of the device. It is equipped with a 5G connection as well as an NFC chip. In addition to that, it features a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and support for both wired and wireless High-Resolution Audio as well as Dolby Vision. In addition to that, it features a pair of stereo speakers, an X-axis linear motor, and an IP53 rating.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition boots MIUI 14, which is based on Android 13, in contrast to the Redmi Note 12 Pro, which comes preinstalled with MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12. It is available in the colors black, blue, and green, and there are three different memory configurations to choose from 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB (the 6GB model only comes in black color).

The device with 6GB of memory costs CNY1,699 ($245/€230 and 55,592 in PKR), while the model with 8GB of memory costs CNY1,799 ($260/€245 and 58,996 in PKR) The price of the 12GB version is CNY1,999 (about $285 or €270 and 64,668 in PKR ).
