Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Receives Unexpected Update

The mobile device was first made available to consumers in the year 2018, and the Korean manufacturer said that it would no longer offer support for the product in the latter part of 2022. According to a tip by SamMobile, the Galaxy Note 9 is getting an unexpected software upgrade that brings the device’s security patch level up to February 2023. The update will not introduce any new features or significant modifications to the game.

How to upgrade the software

The update is now being distributed with the firmware version N960FXXSAFWB3, and users should be able to download the upgrade directly to their devices when it becomes available. OTA by selecting Download and install from the menu located under Settings » Software update.

There is no information available from Samsung regarding any new features or bug fixes that may be included in the most recent firmware update for the Galaxy Note 9. In addition, according to SamMobile, Samsung has not included any particular references to the Galaxy Note 9 in any of the most recent three months’ worth of security fixes that it has distributed.
