The Wi-Fi Alliance has certified Fairphone 4 as a 5G device.

According to WinFuture, the next Fairphone smartphone will be known as the “Fairphone 4 5G.” This is indirectly confirmed by the phone’s certification with the Wi-Fi Alliance, which confirms that the phone is compatible with 5G networks.

The certification does not provide any additional information about the next Fairphone model.The Fairphone 3 was released in August of this year, with a refreshed Fairphone 3+ with updated cameras following a few months later in August of the following year.This could indicate that the next Fairphone is getting closer to its own launch window

The certification listing reveals that the device will have 5G support and will ship with Android 11 pre-installed on it.While the listing does not provide any additional information about the device’s specifications, it does confirm that the Fairphone 4 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.Since the previous model was equipped with a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor, it is reasonable to assume that the upcoming model will be equipped with a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G processor.
