It is not exactly clear to us why Vivo is so obsessed with the Y55s moniker, but here we are with yet another phone that bears the same model name. It is not to be confused with the Y55s that were released in 2017 nor with the Y55s 5G that will be released in 2021. However, its specifications are rather comparable to those of the latter. The brand-new Y55s 5G, on the other hand, is designed with foreign markets in mind.
The primary distinction that can be observed is that the battery capacity of the new Vivo Y55s model is just 5,000 mAh, whereas the battery capacity of its namesake was 6,000 mAh. Aside from that, it is still capable of charging at 18W. It appears that all of its other specifications are the same as well. The dimensions of the phone are 164 by 75.84 by 8.25 millimetres, and it weighs 187 grammes. You can have it in either a star black or galaxy blue colour. Both options are available.
It comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 CPU, a 6.58-inch FullHD+ (2408 x 1080) LCD display, either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage that is not extendable in any way. There is not an option for 8 gigabytes of RAM like there is on the 2021 model. Additionally, the phone supports dual 5G SIM cards, has dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, a USB Type-C port with support for on-the-go devices, an FM radio, NFC, and a wide variety of sensors, such as gravity, light, proximity, compass, gyroscope, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Additionally, the phone has dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, a USB Type-C port with
The primary camera on the device has a resolution of 50 megapixels and a lens with an aperture of 1.8 millimeters. On the rear of the device are two secondary cameras with resolutions of 2 megapixels and an aperture of 2.4 millimeters. That is technically one more camera than the model of the phone that was released in 2021. A front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel unit with an f/1.8 aperture.
The base model of the new Vivo Y55s 5G costs NTD 7,990 ($263) and 60,850 rupees. The version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage costs NTD 8,490 ($280) and 64,783 rupees.
